In Uttar Pradesh, the MP and the MLA court sentenced Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party MLA Abbas Ansari to two years imprisonment for giving inflammatory speeches. The court has also sentenced Mansoor Ansari, a close associate of Abbas Ansari, to six months imprisonment. CJM (MP-MLA) Krishna Pratap Singh sentenced him to a maximum of two years imprisonment under Section 506 of IPC and a fine of Rs 3000 as well as small jail in various sections of the case.

While contesting the 2022 assembly elections as the SP-SBSP alliance candidate from Mau Sadar seat, Ansari allegedly threatened the officials from the platform of a public meeting in Paharpur area on March 3, 2022, saying, “After the formation of the SP-led government, the officials will have to give a ‘account of their work before the previous government’s own work before being transferred.
The video of Abbas’s speech in Paharpur area started going viral on social media from late night of March 3. In this video, Abbas is seen saying, “I had a detailed conversation with Akhilesh Bhaiya (SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav) before leaving Mau to contest elections. I said that do not release the transfer list of officers for six months after the formation of the government. The officer will give account of his work first, only then his transfer certificate will be signed.”
