India has won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. But a big controversy has arisen over its closing ceremony, when no Pakistan Cricket Board official appeared during the prize distribution ceremony. Pakistan was the host of this tournament, but in the prize distribution ceremony in Dubai, no one appeared on the stage on behalf of the PCB, which has raised many questions. At the same time, former Pakistan player Shoaib Akhtar has also raised questions.
When the whole of India was celebrating Team India’s historic victory in the Champions Trophy, the award ceremony from Dubai created a stir in social media. Questions arose that why did not any big name of PCB show on stage? This issue also made a lot of headlines in Pakistan.
At the same time, Shoaib Akhtar shared a post from his Instagram handle, in which he can be seen expressing disrespect on this matter. He released the video saying that this is beyond my comprehension. How can this happen on the world stage? The PCB chairman or a big officer should have been there. But it is a matter of regret that this did not happen.
However, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram clarified about the absence of PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. He said on a YouTube channel that as far as I know, Mohsin Naqvi was not well, so he could not go to Dubai.
At the same time, according to reports, PCB Chief Executive Officer Sumer Ahmed and officer Usman were present in the stadium. But he was not called on stage. Sumer was the director of the Champions Trophy, despite his absence came under question.
This is literally beyond my understanding.
