Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the LDF government led by Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala. His remarks have been controversial. Amidst the controversy, Tharoor warned the Congress that if the party does not need their services, they have ‘options’.
Speaking at the Indian Express Malayalam Podcast, Tharoor denied rumors of changing the party. He said that even though there is a difference in thoughts, he does not believe so.
During the podcast interview, Tharoor reacted to the controversy and said he never thought of himself as a politician and he had ‘narrow political views’. He called upon the Congress to increase its base in Kerala to attract new voters and highlighted the absence of a leader in the party’s state unit. Tharoor also refused to comment on the news of differences between him and the Congress.
Let me tell you, Tharoor had earlier praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for meeting the policies of the Kerala government and to meet US President Donald Trump in America, which the Congress did not like.
