Dattatreya Hosbole said that there is India in English, but in Indian language there is ‘India’. This is ‘Constitution of India’, ‘Reserve Bank of India’ … why is this? Such a question should arise. It should be improved. If the name of the country is India, then it should be called by this name. Hosbole said that India is more than a geographical unit or constitutional structure; It is a symbol of a deep philosophy and spiritual heritage. Speaking on the occasion of the release of the book discourse published by Suruchi Prakashan in the auditorium of Panchsheel Balak Inter College, Hosbole emphasized the need to adopt India’s identity rather than India.
The event was organized by RSS -inspired organization Prerna Research Institute Trust. He said that if the name of the country is India, then speak India. India is the English name. He pointed to the contradictions like ‘Constitution of India’, ‘Reserve Bank of India’ and said that he is still being named “colonial”. Hosbole, linking the issue to the widespread requirement of ‘mentality of mindset’, argued that the British rule has left a deep impression that is still shaping Indian consciousness.
