Chief Minister Sarma said through a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “38 people were arrested overnight in the cow meat case in Dhubri.” According to the Chief Minister, on June 7, a chopped head of a cow was found in front of Hanuman temple located in Dhubri city on Eid. The next day again, there were clashes in the area after meeting the sliced ​​head of the cow in front of the same temple. The Chief Minister gave this information after visiting the affected areas. He said that on June 9, the district administration had implemented prohibitory orders in Dhubri city, which was removed the next day after improving law and order.
The Chief Minister said that the order to shoot was given at night, as an organization was trying to create unrest in the district bordering Bangladesh. He said that an organization called ‘Nabin Bangla’ has put up posters in the district, demanding Dhubri to be merged with Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the state government said in a notification that Dhubri Senior Superintendent of Police Naveen Singh has been transferred and he has been replaced by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Halakandi, Leena Dole.

He had said, “As soon as I reach Guwahati, an order to shoot will be issued and a person involved in the overnight or a stone pelting incident will be arrested.” The Chief Minister said that quick action forces (RAF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel will be deployed in the district and all criminals will be arrested in Dhubri. He said, “Those who have taken laws in their hands, will be strictly dealt with.” Sharma said that the law and order situation in Dhubri has been challenging for the last one week.
The Chief Minister said, “A communal group has become active to create unrest in Dhubri and after finding out about it, I have come to Dhubri and orders will be implemented in the district on seeing the night.” He said that all the criminals will be arrested in Dhubri and those who have taken the law will be strictly dealt with. Sharma said that earlier a section of people eaten ‘Beef’ on Bakrid, but this time thousands of cattle have been brought from West Bengal and a “new beef mafia” has emerged in Dhubri, which has bought thousands of animals just before the festival. He said, “This thing has come to my knowledge and I have ordered an inquiry into it. I have instructed the officials to arrest those people who have started this cattle business. ”
The Chief Minister said that next year he will go to Dhubri on the day of Eid himself and will stay there the next day. Sharma said, “We cannot allow a section of the community to make such disturbances. Our government will not tolerate it and will not let Dhubri go through our hands. ”He said that if needed, he will guard the Hanuman temple all night.
