Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday targeted the Supreme Court and said that if the law will make the top court, then the Parliament House should be closed.
Dubey has written this post on ‘X’ without any interpretation. His remarks come at a time when several petitions challenging the constitutionality of the Waqf (Amendment) Act are being heard in the apex court. The Act was passed by Parliament earlier this month.
After the court questioned some controversial provisions of this law, the central government has agreed not to implement them till the next hearing. The debate has also started on the recent schedule by the Supreme Court to take decisions on the bills sent to the President.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has disagreed with this decision of the apex court. On the other hand, opposition parties have appreciated the proceedings of the Supreme Court in the Waqf (Amendment) Act case along with the above instructions of the apex court.
BJP’s Lok Sabha member Dubey posted on ‘X’, “If the law will be made by the Supreme Court, then the Parliament House should be closed.” Dubey, MP from Godda in Jharkhand, often plays a leading role in the political attacks of the BJP on his rivals in the Lok Sabha and keeps the ruling party’s stand clearly on various issues.
