Bihar’s main opposition party RJD demanded Bharat Ratna for Lalu Prasad in the state assembly. Party MLA Mukesh Kumar Roshan raised the issue by presenting a private bill, which was later rejected by the sound. The RJD MLA said that Lalu ji is the most popular leader in the country. He brought social justice and gave voice to the unruly. He deserves the country’s highest civilian honor-India gem. The state government should send a proposal to the central government in this regard.

Describing Lalu as the messiah of the poor and the underprivileged, Roshan said that the party’s founder and president fought for the rights of the poor and dedicated their entire life to them. Reacting to this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said, “There is no proposal in this regard which is under consideration of the state government. Therefore, the member should withdraw his private bill.” When the RJD MLA refused to withdraw his bill, it was demolished.

Even before this, RJD leaders raised the issue. In October last year, a poster was posted outside the RJD office in Patna demanding Bharat Ratna to Lalu. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has previously supported the demand for Bharat Ratna for his father Lalu Prasad on several occasions.
