North-South Partition deepened on Thursday when Tamil Nadu senior minister Durai Muraugan alleged that the culture of North India involves having many spouses and warned that the tongue of those insulting the Tamils would be cut off. This comment has come at a time when proposed delimitation practice has further enhanced the increasing enmity between Tamil Nadu and the Center between language war. Comparing the Mahabharata, the minister alleged that a woman in North Indian culture is allowed to marry five or ten men. This comment is being seen as a reference to the marriage of Draupadi’s five Pandavas in the Mahabharata. Murugan said that in our culture a man marries a woman. But a woman in North India can marry five or ten men. Also, five men can marry a woman. This is their culture. If one goes, the other will come. The center of this dispute is delimited, as Tamil Nadu fears that if the latest population is delimited on the basis of data, it will lose its representation in Parliament.
The senior DMK leader said that whatever was in power at the Congress and the Center, he asked us to control the population that we did so and now the population has reduced. But the population in North India did not decrease. He born 17, 18, 19 children. They have no other work.
