IPL 2025 Mega Auction is to be held on 24th and 25th November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During this time, the first match of the five-match Test series between India and Australia will also take place. Regarding this, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is unhappy with the auction being held during the Test match. He has described the situation as bad regarding this. Many former Australian cricketers are associated with the IPL franchise and due to the auction, Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer and Australia’s bowling coach Daniel Vettori have to be a part of the IPL auction at any cost.
In the auction to be held in Jeddah, Ricky Ponting will be present as the coach of Punjab Kings, Langer as the coach of Lucknow Super Giants and Daniel Vettori as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer will be seen commentating on the first day of the Perth Test between India and Australia.
Also, Ricky Ponting said regarding the schedule, this is the worst situation for me and JL. We were thinking for the last few months that maybe there would be a gap between the Test match and the auction. This will remove pressure from the players of both the teams, there are many players from both the teams in the auction.
He said that, so I always felt that there would be a gap between these two because it would have been good for everyone. But I don’t know why they have chosen these dates. Maybe it has something to do with the game. Actually, the auction starts immediately after the game ends so it may have something to do with the telecast.
