In this shorter format of cricket, Abhishek Sharma is one of those players who has been continuously getting opportunities in the top order. But he has failed to bring consistency in his performance in recent times. Abhishek has the ability to hit shots all around the ground and he scored a century in just 47 balls against Zimbabwe in July 2024. Now former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has warned Abhishek before the match against England.
Actually, Aakash Chopra expressed concern over Abhishek Sharma’s form and said that there have been ups and downs in Abhishek’s form. He scored a century against Zimbabwe in the second T20 match of his career. They are full of talent, but their performance has not improved. I think this is his last chance, if he does well then it will be great.
Aakash Chopra further said that, Abhishek will have to do the same thing that Sanju Samson has done in the last 3 matches. If this does not happen then Yashasvi Jaiswal or someone else will take his place. Abhishek Sharma has so far scored 256 runs in 11 innings in T20 cricket at a strike rate of 171.81. His strike rate is quite good but his average of 23.27 is worrying. So far, Abhishek has managed to score one century and half-century in his T20 career.
