The 3-match Test series between India and New Zealand will be played from October 16. The first test will be played in Bengaluru. Before this, New Zealand has suffered a big setback. A statement issued by New Zealand Cricket said that Sears’ departure to India was delayed after scans revealed an injury to his meniscus. Following medical advice, he was out of the series. Otago Volts’ uncapped bowler Jacob Duffy has been included in the squad in place of Sears. He will leave for India on Tuesday evening.
30-year-old Duffy, who took the most wickets for Otago, has played 6 ODIs and 14 T20 matches for the Blackcaps. Currently he has 299 first-class wickets to his name. Whereas 26-year-old Ben Sears made his debut against Australia this year. He has taken 5 wickets in 2 innings of 1 test.
