On Thursday, the Indian men’s team also won the bronze medal. In fact, in the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Table Tennis Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, India had to face defeat by 0-3 against Chinese Taipei. After which the Indian team had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.
For the first time, Indian women’s table tennis won a historic bronze medal. After that, on Thursday, the Indian men’s team also won the bronze medal. In fact, in the semi-finals of the ongoing Asian Table Tennis Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, India had to face defeat by 0-3 against Chinese Taipei. After which the Indian team had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.
This was India’s third consecutive medal in the men’s team event in the Asian Table Tennis Championships. Who won bronze medals in the 2021 and 2023 seasons. Overall, this was India’s seventh medal in the continental table tennis meet, of which all seven were bronze medals.
Indian table tennis players faced tough challenges from the very beginning against their higher ranked rivals. Five-time Olympian and world number 42 Sharath Kamal led India in the first match against world number 11 Lin Yun Ju.
Despite maintaining the lead in the second and third games, Sharath could not take advantage of it and had to face a 3-0 defeat.
