The airspace ban aims to facilitate several activities including the deployment of fighter jets, monitoring aircraft and other air operations as part of the Indian Air Force war preparations. The time and location of practice are important, as tension in the region has increased after recent border events. Although the Indian Ministry of Defense has not particularly linked to the exercise to the current geopolitical developments, the practice is a sign of vigilance amidst the performance of India’s military readiness and increasing regional concerns.
