Regular captain of Rajasthan Royals Sanju Samson has been playing as an impact player for the last three matches due to thumb injury. He is neither captaining the team nor wicketkeeping during this period. Now he has reached the Center of Excellence of BCCI located in Bengaluru to get permission to take wicketkeeping on Monday.
According to the news of Cricbuzz, Samson will have a test in the Sport Science Wing of Center of Excellence, after which he will return to the team as captain if he gets permission. Will also play the role of wicketkeeper.
In the absence of Samson, Ryan is captaining the team. Under his captaincy, the team has played three matches. Out of which the team has won only one match. Rajasthan lost its opening two matches to Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. After this, on Sunday, he defeated Chennai Super Kings and opened the victory account in this season.
Samson scored 66 against Hyderabad, 13 against KKR and 20 against Chennai Super Kings. In the absence of Samson, Dhruv Jurael was playing the role of wicketkeeping for the team.
Samson will be the same hope that he gets permission for wicketkeeping from the Center of Excellence. Rajasthan will play its next match on 5 April. Where he will face Punjab Kings.
