Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday criticized the US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and warned of serious consequences. Araghchi described these attacks as a clear violation of international law, United Nations Charter and Nuclear Non -Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
In his statement on X, he accused the US permanent member of the United Nations Security Council of committing criminal acts by targeting ‘peaceful nuclear installations’.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said in a post, ‘This morning incidents are derogatory and it will have endless results. Every member of the United Nations should be very dangerous, legitimate and worried about criminal behavior.
Calling the global community to focus on this, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that these ‘dangerous and illegal’ actions conducted by Washington should be shocked to every member of the United Nations. Referring to the United Nations Charter, Araghchi also emphasized that Iran is free to take all necessary steps under its right to self -defense.
The post further stated, “According to the United Nations Charter and its provisions, which allow legitimate response to self -defense, Iran preserves all the options to protect its sovereignty, interest and people.” A few moments after the post of the Foreign Minister, Iran’s Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the US air strikes on its nuclear installations, and described the attacks as a direct attack on its sovereignty.
