Iron Dome also failed, Houthi drone attack in Tel Aviv, Israel

Yemen’s pro-Iran Houthi rebels have taken strong revenge against Israel. Houthis have launched a successful ballistic missile attack in Israel’s most important city Tel Aviv. Israel’s military said the projectile hit the Jaffa area south of Tel Aviv and said efforts to intercept a missile from Yemen failed shortly after the sirens hit central Israel. Till now Israel used to shoot down these missiles in the air using air defense systems like Iron Dome and Arrow-3.

It said a fallen projectile had been identified in the area. Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said at least 16 people were slightly injured by shards of broken glass in nearby buildings. In addition, 14 victims were treated for minor injuries sustained while seeking shelter, as well as seven terrified victims. Israel’s second largest city, Tel Aviv is the country’s commercial and diplomatic center. Due to its extensive air defences, direct hits from projectiles fired at the coastal city are rare.
