The Income Tax Department found crocodiles and other reptiles during a raid at the house of former BJP MLA Harvansh Singh Rathore in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. Following allegations of tax evasion worth crores of rupees, Income Tax officers arrived to raid properties belonging to beedi manufacturer and building contractor Rathore and former councilor Rajesh Kesharwani. During the raid, officials found three crocodiles and other reptiles at Rathore’s residence, prompting them to alert the forest department. Forest officials later rescued the animals after being informed by Income Tax personnel.

Srivastava, however, did not say how many crocodiles were rescued or who was the owner of the house. A top Income Tax official said searches were conducted at locations in Sagar linked to beedi manufacturer, building construction contractor and former BJP councilor Rajesh Kesarwani. But he refused to say anything about crocodiles. According to sources, four crocodiles have been rescued.
