Canadian journalist Daniel Boardman said that before Prime Minister Modi’s visit, a group of Khalistani separatists in Calgary staged an anti -Modi demonstration, calling Canadian Prime Minister Mark Karney to end Modi politics and to end India’s politics from US President Donald Trump. The boardman described the visit as a “important” development with implications to deal with domestic politics, trade and the country’s extremism. Boardman said that the Khalistan movement is a major obstacle in India-Canada relations. He stressed that Canada’s softening towards Sikh separatist groups operating in Canada, allegedly funded by Pakistan, is seen as support for terrorism and balconization by India.
