India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reached Pakistan to participate in the SCO meeting and in this SCO meeting, he made gestures from China to Pakistan. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif himself was present in this SCO meeting. China’s Premier Li was also present in this meeting. India raised such issues in front of both of them due to which it is believed that they have been vilified. While participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, S Jaishankar has exposed China and Pakistan. Addressing the SCO meeting, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has raised the issue of violation of Indian sovereignty due to Pakistan-China’s CPEC project. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that SCO member countries should be based on mutual respect and sovereign equality. It is important that all countries recognize territorial integrity and sovereignty. For this, a real partnership should be built and not proceed on a unilateral agenda.

He said that its objective is to develop multidimensional cooperation, especially of regional nature. It aims to be a positive force in balanced development, integration and conflict prevention. Jaishankar said it was also clear in the charter what the main challenges were. There were mainly three challenges that the SCO was committed to combat: first- terrorism, second- separatism and third challenge- extremism.

Jaishankar also described the debt challenge as a serious concern. Discussing global issues, the External Affairs Minister said that global institutions need to keep pace with changes and underlined the need for reformed multilateralism. They also stressed the need for comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council, both at the permanent and non-permanent categories, to make the global body more representative, inclusive, transparent and efficient.
