Jammu and Kashmir government closed schools, colleges and universities for two days amid India-pak tension

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday ordered the closure of all schools, colleges and universities in the Union Territory for two days as a precaution. Education Minister Sakina Itu told PTI-Bhasha, “All schools, colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed for two days on Friday and Saturday.”
 
He said that in view of the current security situation, it has been decided to close the school as a precautionary measure. The Punjab government has ordered the closure of schools, colleges and universities in the state for the next three days in view of increasing tension between India and Pakistan on Thursday evening. This announcement was made by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.
 
The minister wrote on X, “Given the developed situation, it is ordered that all schools, colleges and universities in Punjab – government, private and aided – will remain completely closed for the next three days.”
 
All holidays canceled in Delhi
According to the order given by the news agency PTI on Thursday evening, the Delhi government has canceled the employees’ holidays in view of the current status and emergency response preparations amidst increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, schools have been closed in Gurugram, Haryana, the families of the students have been informed by sending a message from the institutions. All schools, colleges and universities in Punjab have also been closed for three days. The order issued by the Service Department of the government said that no Delhi government official will be discharged till further order in view of the preparations for the current situation and any emergency.
Officials said that all the District Magistrates of the national capital are holding meetings with their subordinates to review health and disaster management preparations for any emergency.
