About half an hour later, Japan Airlines posted an update saying it had identified the cause of the problem at 8:56 a.m. (local time) and taken action. It said it has temporarily shut down the router that caused the system glitch and has also stopped ticket sales for domestic and international flights scheduled to depart today.
The airline tweeted, “We identified the cause of the problem at 8:56 am and took action. We are currently investigating the system recovery status. Additionally, sales have been suspended for both domestic and international flights scheduled to depart today.” We are sorry for any inconvenience.”
