Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiha spoke to his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar. In a post on X, Sibiha said that I spoke to Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Kiev and talks with Volodymyr Zelensky. We agreed to further advance our bilateral relations in all promising areas of cooperation. We exchanged views ahead of the UNGA and coordinated the next steps in the political dialogue.

However, when reporters asked Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri about any possible meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Zelensky, he said he was not aware of the Ukrainian side approaching the Indian side for bilateral meetings. He said that as far as these bilateral meetings are concerned, I am not aware of any request at this point of time. As I said, we are still finalizing the exact agenda of the bilateral meetings.

The Prime Minister and President Biden will have the opportunity to review the comprehensive global strategic partnership between India and the United States. We also hope to hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of Japan and Australia.
