The biggest anti -Naxal campaign in the country is being called, in which more than 20,000 security personnel from three states have surrounded more than 1,000 Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. At least five Naxalites have been killed in this campaign with security personnel from Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Maharashtra. This major action has been taken at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah has fixed the deadline of March 31, 2026 to end Naxalism. The campaign has been going on for more than 48 hours, and was started after receiving intelligence on the presence of top Naxalite leaders, including Most Wanted Commander Hidma and Battalion chief Deva.

Security forces have surrounded the Kargutta hills located on the sensitive Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, so that all the ways of Naxalites escape. Surrounded by a series of dense forests and hills, this area is considered to be the base of Battalion No.1 of Maoists. A few days ago, the Naxalites issued a press note and warned the villagers not to enter the hills, saying that a large number of IEDs have been installed in the region.

So far this year, about 150 Naxalites have been killed in different encounters in Chhattisgarh. Of these, 124 Naxalites have been eradicated in Bastar division, which is considered a stronghold of Naxalites.
