Controversy continues over the inclusion of Hindi as a third language in schools in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, a big statement of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has come out. He said that Marathi language is compulsory in Maharashtra, everyone should learn it. Also, if you want to learn other languages, you can learn. He lashed out at the opposition and said that it is amazing to protest Hindi and promote English. If someone opposes Marathi, he will not be tolerated.

NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule said that I have said earlier that the decision has been taken in a hurry when the Hindi was included in the schools of Maharashtra as the third language. Marathi is the soul of Maharashtra and it will remain number one. He said that a lot of work is to be done in the field of education and Marathi language should be the first language. I think this step is a conspiracy to eliminate our SSC board.
After MNS chief Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena-UBT MP Sanjay Raut has opposed the move. Raut said that Marathi is the language of the state and there is no need to teach Hindi here. He said that Fadnavis wants to do language politics. Marathi is the language of the state here. First of all make Marathi mandatory. Marathi language should be respected in employment, industry and commerce. Sanjay Raut also accused Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis of politicizing the language. Raut argued that the Hindi film industry focuses in Mumbai. He said that we all sing Hindi songs and watch Hindi movies. Still you are trying to impose and teach us Hindi. States like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh or Northeast need Hindi. Make Hindi compulsory there. Marathi should be spoken first in Maharashtra.

He accused BJP leaders of ignoring Marathi language. Raut asked, “What action was taken against the BJP leader who says the language of Ghatkopar is Gujarati? Marathi should be made mandatory in every school in Maharashtra, not only on paper. It should be applied to the ground level.” Raut said that Hindi is liked and spoken in the whole country, but it should not be imposed in the school curriculum.
