After the announcement of the dates of the assembly elections, the activities of all the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have increased. The political parties do not want to leave any stone unturned in the assembly elections which are going to be held after almost 10 years. In this connection, former Chief Minister of the state and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had proposed an alliance to BSP supremo Mayawati in the Jammu and Kashmir elections. According to sources, it has been learned that Mayawati has rejected Omar Abdullah’s proposal.

According to the information, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had talked to the top leadership of BSP for an alliance for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. But due to Omar’s talks with Congress, Mayawati has clearly refused. Let us tell you that BSP has surprised all the parties by getting 31.65 percent votes in the Kathua assembly seat in the 2014 assembly elections.

In Jammu Kashmir, BSP had won four seats in the 1996 elections and one seat in 2002. Actually, after delimitation in Jammu Kashmir, there will be a total of 90 assembly seats in this election. Election Commission informed that this time 3 seats have been increased in Jammu Kashmir assembly. Last time there were 87 seats in Jammu Kashmir assembly. Rajiv Kumar said, “Out of 90 seats in Jammu Kashmir, 74 are general. Whereas, 9 seats have been reserved for scheduled tribes and 7 seats for scheduled castes. Whereas, the election results will be declared on October 4.
