Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged the Center to reconsider his decision to deport the Pakistani citizens who have married Indians and have been living here for 30-40 years. Emphasizing on causing serious human concerns with this step, Mufti said that mostly affected women who have been a part of society for a long time. The PDP chief said in a post on X that the recent government instructions to deport all Pakistani citizens from India have created serious human concerns, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has canceled all visas issued to Pakistani citizens, killing 26 people, and directed them to return by 29 April. According to the data, more than 680 Pakistanis have been sent back from the attic border. Calling a kind approach, Mufti said that it would be inhuman to deport the persons living peacefully in India for decades. He said that we urge the government to reconsider this decision and adopt a kind approach regarding women, children and the elderly.

The former Chief Minister further said that it would not only be inhuman to deport people living peacefully in India for decades, but it will bring deep emotional and physical crisis on those families, which no other house for themselves. Regarding the demolition of alleged terrorists’ houses under action on the terrorist system, the Mufti said that the Center should ensure that the property of the common people is not destroyed.
