The Congress on Saturday alleged that the Modi government also plays a poor political game on serious national issues after the Congress released his name for seven delegations going abroad.
After ‘Operation Sindoor’, seven all -party delegations will go abroad by taking India’s message not to tolerate terrorism, out of which four delegations will be led by leaders of the ruling parties while three will be led by leaders of opposition parties.
Of the four leaders whose names the Congress had given, only Anand Sharma has got a place in the list released by the government. Among the opposition leaders who led the delegations are the name of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, although Tharoor was not named among the four leaders which the party has submitted to the government.
The Congress says that only four leaders Anand Sharma, Gaurav Gogoi, Syed Nasir Hussain and Amarinder Singh Raja Wading were given to the government.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a statement on Saturday night, on the morning of 16 May, the Modi government sought the names of four MPs/leaders from the Congress party, who were to be included in the delegations being sent abroad to put India’s situation on Pakistan sponsored terrorism.
On behalf of the Congress Parliamentary Party, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha had sent four names in writing to the Parliamentary Affairs Minister by 12 noon on May 16. He said that late tonight (17 May), the official list of all these delegations has been released.
It is extremely regrettable that only one of the four names suggested by the Congress leadership has been included. Ramesh alleged that it exposes the Modi government’s completely insensitive and untrue political thinking, and shows how she also plays substandard political game on serious national issues.
He said, four respected MPs/leaders of the Congress, which were included by the Modi government, will definitely go with the delegation and play their role. The Congress party will not fall even to this levelless conduct of the Prime Minister and the BJP. The party gives its best wishes to all these delegations.
However, it is necessary to make it clear that these delegations do not divert attention from the major demands of the Congress party, which include the demand for calling all -party meetings under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and a special session of Parliament, and the need to re -confirm the proposal passed on 22 February 1994 and the need to take into account the events that followed the events passed on 22 February 1994.
