In Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, a case of alleged gang rape of seven people Dwararatin minor girls and a woman has come to light. An official gave this information on Friday.
The official said that the seven accused in the case have been apprehended. Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh told reporters on Friday that the incident occurred between one and a half to two o’clock on Thursday when all the tribal victims were returning home from a wedding ceremony.
Singh said, “The seven accused riding on two motorcycles chased a boy present with the victims. He was gang -raped by the seven in the bushes under the boundary of Hatta police station. A case was registered after the victims came to light and all the seven were taken into custody. We will ensure that they get the harshest punishment.’
He has identified the arrested accused as Lokesh Matre, Lalchand Khare, Ajendra Bahe, Ajju Bagdate, Rajendra Kavre and Maniram Bahe. All these ages are between 20–28 years.
The Superintendent of Police said that one of the accused is a minor who has been sent to the reform home after presenting it in the Juvenile Court. He said that an FIR has been lodged against the accused under the Code of India Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (Poxo).
