MSP declaration positive initiative and also necessary

The Central Government should see the minimum support price of kharif crops before the sowing of kharif should be seen as a positive initiative in the interest of farmers. There is no doubt that one premature support values are being announced by the Narendra Modi government, while on the other hand, steps are also being taken to encourage farmers to increase production as per the requirement. While a successful effort has been made by the government to provide international identity to Shri Ann, meaningful efforts are also being made to make the country self -sufficient in the field of pulses and oilseeds. By 2027, with the goal of making the country self -sufficient in the field of pulses, the government is moving forward, so remarkable efforts are also being made in the field of oilseeds. The seriousness of the government can be understood from this that the minimum support values declared for the upcoming kharif, Ramatil’s prices of Rs 820. Growing Rs 9537 Per quintal AMSP has been declared. Similarly, Rs 579 in sesame MSP, Rs 436 in soybean, Rs 441 in sunflower. And Rs 480 in peanut MSP. Has been increased. In the same way, urad is Rs 400. So moong’s MSP is Rs 86. And Rs 450 in Arhar’s MSP. Has been increased. Similarly, MSP rates of other kharif crops like millet, ragi, jowar, cotton, paddy etc. have been increased.
There is no doubt that as far as the announcement of MSP rates is concerned, the government’s desire power cannot be doubted. The increase in MSP rates of the Modi government from 2013-14 to 2025-26 can certainly be considered an increasing step in positive direction. An increase of 226 percent compared to 2013-14 has been in the support price of ragi. In millet, 122 percent and Jowar’s MSP has increased by 147 percent. Pulses and oilseed kharif crops have also increased by 82 percent from 82 percent to 172 percent. The government also claims that before making the MSP announcement, the government has taken into account all aspects of the cost of crops and more MSP rates have been issued than the cost.

During the farmer movements, the most important issue has been with MSP. The government is claiming another MSP rates and purchases on MSP and this claim is also correct to an extent, but the other farmer leaders have said that the government should announce the announcement of MSP rates and ensure the purchase system on the MSP. FCI and Nephaad MSP from the Central Government is a nodal institution for procurement, while cotton is procured by CCI. The cooperative marketing institutions of the states are prominently participated in the procurement facility for FCI and Nephad in the states. The purchase system has also been made transparent and online and the arrangement ranging from registration to direct accounts has been online. But there is definitely a bag in the system. It can be understood that there was a time when the government procurement was announced and about 10 to 15 percent of the production of production used to come around the MSP. The result of this was that neither the farmers had resentment nor any other problem. But today, despite the transparent of the purchase system, the farmer feels cheated. One of the big reasons for this is that the purchase of millet etc. is postponed by the government, because after the purchase of millet, there is a crisis over the maintenance and the government believes that it is more damaged because the purchased millet deteriorates quickly. At the same time, despite making the system a million transparent and respondent, middlemen are seen taking full advantage of this system. Somewhere the amount of purchase is being done at the procurement centers, it is more than the yield produced in that area. Along with this, due to the dependence on the borne due to the farmers’ surety needs, the benefit of the farmer also takes the advantage. However, this can be considered a fault of the system. It should be that the government should complete the necessary preparations for the purchase before coming into the markets by preparing the crops of the crops whose support price is announced by the government. All the preparations should be ensured including the installation of the procurement center, the arrangement of weighing, transportation, storage, necessary arrangements from banks etc. Along with this, all the data of production are available with the government today, in such a situation, assessment of possible procurement should also be ensured. In the past, the announcement by the government that it will be purchased in such a quantity, then it creates more opportunities for politics and a situation of unnecessary confusion. It becomes necessary to avoid such situations.

On the minimum support price, the government will also have to make a clear policy for the purchase of kharif Shri food, especially millet etc., otherwise we are providing international platforms to Shri Annas, especially Bajra, it can be affected soon. The government will have to make some clear strategy so that millet producing farmers cannot feel cheated despite the declaration of MSP rate. For this, market forces will also have to be activated so that the demand for Shri Annan millet etc. in the market increases and even in the event of government procurement, the MSP rate can be found in the market at least the productive farmer. For this, the government will have to come forward with will. Now we also have the responsibility to encourage Shri Annna, in such a situation, we have to pay more serious attention because the government will have three to four months from sowing to crop ripening. NGOs working in this area will also have to make concerted efforts so that the solution to this problem can be found and the Annadata can get full money for his hard work. Late, the government will have to find a permanent solution instead of tying the purchase within the limits so that the MSP system can be more beneficial.
