Mumbai BMW hit-and-run: Mihir Shah dragged a woman for 1.5 km, police made shocking revelations

A big revelation has happened in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case. Mumbai Police has shared big information in the court on July 8 in this case. According to Mumbai Police, the victim Kaveri Nakhwa was crushed by the accused Rajarshi Bidawat just before the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The accused did not stop after crushing the woman. The accused dragged the woman there and both of them ran away. This information has come to light in the police investigation.

The police also informed the court that the accused Mihir was driving the car at the time of the incident. Immediately after the incident, he had exchanged seats with the driver. According to the police, after dragging the woman for one and a half kilometers, the accused exchanged seats with the driver. An officer told PTI that Mihir Shah's father and Palghar Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah played an active role in ensuring his son's escape and he also planned to remove the criminal vehicle from there.

Mihir Shah (24), who is currently absconding, was allegedly driving the BMW luxury car that hit Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injured her husband Pradeep in Mumbai's Worli area on Sunday morning, police said. Rajarshi Bidawat, who has been arrested, was the other occupant of the BMW car.

  • CCTV camera footage produced by Mumbai Police in court on Monday showed Kaveri Nakhwa being dragged for 1.5 kilometres by a BMW car.
  • The footage shows Mihir Shah and Rajarshi Bidawat pulling the woman off the bonnet, throwing her on the road and then reversing the luxury vehicle and crushing her again.
  • After being dragged from Worli, Mihir Shah and Rajarshi Bidawat stopped the car just before BWSL and pulled out the woman who was entangled in the car tyre.
  • An official said that Rajarshi Bidawat then took the driver's seat and reversed the car, crushing the victim. They then fled.
  • “They sped towards Kala Nagar, where the vehicle's engine stopped. Mihir Shah then called his father Rajesh Shah from Rajarshi Bidawat's phone and informed him about the accident as well as the car stopping. Rajesh Shah arrived at the spot in a Mercedes, spoke to Mihir Shah and asked him to flee. Later, Rajesh Shah planned to tow the BMW from there,” PTI reported.
  • However, the official said that since Kaveri Nakhwa's husband Pradeep and an eyewitness informed the police, a patrolling team reached Kalanagar and arrested Rajesh and Bidawat.
  • Meanwhile, Mumbai Police formed 11 teams and also involved the Crime Branch to nab Mihir Shah.
  • The officer said that a Look Out Circular (LOC) has also been issued against him.
