Mumbai Politics | ‘BJP does not want Marathi parties to unite’, Uddhav Thackeray said amid discussion of alliance with MNS

Giving another indication about the possible alliance with his cousin Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday announced a scathing attack on the ruling alliance in BJP and Maharashtra, announced his intentions to “rebuild Mumbai at any cost” and accused the Mansi Navnirman Sena (MNS) to stop the Marathi unity (MNS) to stop the possible alliance.

Shiv Sena (Ubatha) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to thwart the possibility of his party’s alliance with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), headed by his cousin Raj Thackeray before the Municipal Corporation elections.

Addressing a rally on the occasion of the 59th Foundation Day of undivided Shiv Sena formed by the late Bal Thackeray, he warned the ruling party that if he damaged the ‘Thackeray brand’, he would have to face serious consequences. Uddhav said that meetings are being held at hotels and other places to thwart the possibility of alliance of Marathi parties. He was obviously referring to the recent meeting held at Raj Thackeray’s five -star hotel in the city with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Thackeray repeated the dialogue of the film ‘Phar’ starring Nana Patekar, saying, “Whatever people want will be the same.” We will see how it is done. BJP and Eknath Shinde-Net Shiv Sena do not want Marathi parties to unite. If you try to end the Thackeray brand, we will end the BJP. I am ready I want to tell the BJP ….. when you come to pick me up ….. Bring an ambulance for yourself. ”There is speculation that both Thackeray brothers may form an alliance in view of the civic elections in Mumbai and other parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister also said that Hindi in the state will not be allowed to apply at any cost. Expressing confidence of the party to remain captured by the party, he said that the BJP wants to create a partition between Marathi and Hindi speaking people on the eve of the elections. Uddhav Thackeray claimed that the BJP had no legacy of its own, and had to install a huge statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had banned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) while being the home minister of the country.

He alleged that the state government is giving Mumbai to Adani Group for ‘free’ for the Dharavi redevelopment project. Thackeray also termed the rally of Eknath Shinde, a rival Shiv Sena rally as “thieves’ gathering.
