Nicholas Puran has said that he thought very thoughtfully before taking retirement, and then reached this decision with a heavy heart.
Puran wrote that, this game that we love, he has given us great happiness and will keep giving us. Never forgettable memories and a chance to represent the West Indies people. Wearing maroon color, standing for the national anthem and giving 100 percent of your 100 percent every time you step on the field. What does this mean for me it is difficult to describe it in words. It will always be a matter of respect for me to lead the team as captain.

For his family, friends and fellow players, he wrote that, thank you for walking with me in this journey. Your faith and support took me forward in this journey. However, this international chapter of my career has stopped. But my love for West Indies cricket will never be less. I do not want anything other than the success of the team.
 
Nicholas Puran’s cricket career
At the same time, Puran made T20 International debut in 2016, 3 years later, in 2019, he made his ODI debut. He never played Tests for the West Indies. In his international career, Puran played 61 ODIs and 106 T20 matches, scoring 1983 and 2275 runs respectively.
He has also scored 3 centuries and 11 half -centuries in ODI career. While he has 13 half -centuries in T20. Nicholas Puran played his last T20 match against Bangladesh in 2024.

Puran’s blast in IPL
Apart from this, Nicholas keeps making a splash with his bat in the IPL. At the moment he will be seen playing in the IPL. Currently, he is an important part of Lucknow Super Gynts. The 18th season of the IPL was excellent for Puran. This season his bat spoke a lot and a lot of runs were scored. However, his team could not reach the playoffs.
