Patna . Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences at the death of people in a stampede at New Delhi railway station late on Saturday night. The Chief Minister announced to give two lakh rupees to the family of the people of Bihar killed in the stampede and Rs 50,000 to the injured with the Chief Minister Relief Fund. A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said, “The Chief Minister has mourned the death of people in a stampede at New Delhi railway station. He is deeply saddened by the death of the people of Bihar in this incident and has announced an ex-gratia amount of two lakh rupees to the family of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has also mourned the incident. Chaudhary said, the incident at New Delhi railway station is heartbreaking. I have deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and the early recovery of the injured. Meanwhile, RJD chief Lalu Prasad criticized the BJP -led government at the Center over the incident and demanded the resignation of the Railway Minister. Prasad told reporters here, “The incident of stampede is very disturbing … It has exposed insufficient arrangements made by the central government. The Railway Minister should resign after this incident.
