On the exile of illegal Indian immigrants from the US, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egyptian said that the details of the standard operation process related to the use of sanctions by the Foreign Minister, which we have been informed by US officials, including immigration and customs enforcement. The Foreign Minister attracted attention to the fact that he was in circulation for a long time. On the issue of misconduct, it is a valid issue to raise and we will continue to emphasize on the US authorities that there should be no misconduct with the exile. We will continue to raise any case of misconduct which will come to our attention. Action should be taken against the underlying ecosystem promoting illegal immigration throughout the system.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in the Rajya Sabha that the process of deportation of Indians living in America without documents is not new and it is the responsibility of all countries that if their citizens are living illegally abroad, then take them back.
The action took place a few days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Washington for extensive talks with US President Donald Trump. Out of the exiled people, 33-33 are from Haryana and Gujarat, three from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and two from Chandigarh. Those who were deported include 19 women and a four -year -old boy, five and seven -year -old girls, including 13 minors.
