North Korean authorities have recently detained four officers in connection with the watering of the naval destroyer vessel fail. The government media of the country gave this information on Monday.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un expressed displeasure over the incident of damage to the vessel during the watering, saying that it was due to criminal negligence.
The 5,000 -tonn destroyer warship, which is being considered important for the North Korea’s Navy, was damaged on Wednesday during its watery ceremony. North Korean leader Kim also attended the event.
In the photographs obtained from the satellite, the vessel looked on one side and covered with blue cover. Some parts of the vessel looked immersed in water. Failure in the watery of the country’s second known destructive warship is a matter of embarrassment for Kim.
Kim insists on strengthening naval forces to deal with American -led military challenges. North Korea launched its first destroyer vessel last month. It is also a vessel weighing 5,000 tons.
Government media said that the vessel is the largest and most advanced warship in North Korea and has been designed to carry various weapons including nuclear missiles.
The official ‘Korean Central News Agency’ (KCNA) said on Monday that the law enforcement authorities took into custody Rong Son, Deputy Director of the War Material Industry Department of the Central Committee of the ruling ‘Workers Party’.
The committee said that Son is “very responsible” for the vessel being damaged. ‘KCNA’ said on Sunday that the authorities had taken into custody the chief engineer of the Chongjin Shipyard, the head of the workshop associated with the construction of a part of the vessel and the Deputy Manager of Administrative Affairs.
KCNA had earlier reported that North Korea’s Central Military Commission started an investigation into the incident and summoned Hong Kil Ho, manager of Chongjin Shipyard. The North Korea’s leading military committee said on Friday that the culprits would be held responsible for this “unforgivable criminal act”.
North Korea has denied any serious damage to the warship during the watering. He said that there was scratch in the lower vessel and some sea water filled a part of the vessel which would take a total of 10 days to remove, repair the vessel and fix the scratches.
