Now hockey players will rain money, Federation declared record prize money for annual awards

Hockey India has announced a record prize money of Rs 12 crore for its seventh annual awards. For which 32 players have been nominated in eight categories. The annual award program will be held on Saturday in which players who performed well in the 2024 season will be honored.
The prominent attractions of the award ceremony is a prestigious Balbir Singh Senior Award for the best player of the year. This will be given to the best male and best female player. Young players will also be rewarded. The Jugrat Singh Award will be given to the emerging male player of the year while the Asunaa Lakra award will be given to the emerging female player of the year.
Apart from this, awards will also be given for personal excellence in various roles. This includes Baljit Singh Award for Best goalkeeper of the year, Pargat Singh Award for Best Defender of the year, Ajit Pal Singh Award for Best Midfielder of the year and Dhanraj Pillay Award for Best Forward of the year.
This year’s awards will be given on the same day on which the Indian men’s team won the World Cup in 1975, 50 years ago, which is the first and only world title in the country. With this, 100 years of Indian hockey will also be completed in 2025 as the country was recognized by the International Hockey Federation on 7 November 1925.

Hockey India Baljit Singh Award for the best goalkeeper of the year 2024- Bichu Devi Khairibam, Krishna Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Savita.
Hockey India Pargat Singh Award for the best defender of 2024- Sanjay, Amit Rohidas, Harmanpreet Singh, Udita.
Hockey India Ajit Pal Singh Award for the best midfielder of 2024, Jarmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Neelakanta Sharma, Sumit.
Hockey India Dhanraj Pillai Award for Best Forward of 2024- Lalremsiami, Abhishek, Sukhjit Singh, Navneet Kaur.
