Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aron said that there was a shooting between two groups at around 5 pm after an event organized at ‘Tennessee State University’. He said the shell casings showed that there was an exchange of fire between the two groups on the road near the university campus.
In a statement shared on social media by the police, it has been said that a 24-year-old man has died in the firing incident, while nine people have been injured. Aron said the injured also included three teenagers, two of whom were 12 years old and one was 14 years old. However, he did not suffer serious injuries. Police spokeswoman Brooke Reese said it appeared some of the people injured in the incident were involved in the shooting.
