pahalgam attack pawar supported congress demand for a special parliament session

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday supported the Congress’ demand to call a special session of Parliament to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and said that the message would go that the country is united. He said that the government should call a special session of the Legislative Assembly to take strict action against the organizations responsible for the Jammu and Kashmir terror attack. My statement on Jammu and Kashmir terror attacks was incorrectly presented. I said that the Jammu and Kashmir terror attacks should not be given Hindu-Muslim communal color. This is an attack on our country and the central government should take strict action against the terrorists.

Addressing a press conference after attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the ‘Tulja Bhavani’ temple, Pawar attacked the massacre of tourists in Kashmir as an attack on the country and said that whatever steps the Center will take in this matter, he will support it. Pawar said, “Some of our colleagues (for a special session of Parliament) have demanded. The whole country is united on this issue. All parties and Parliament are united. A special session (on Pahalgam) will be useful to convey this message to the world.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and call a special session of Parliament to showcase the collective resolution. The former Defense Minister said, “Whatever steps will be taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his colleagues, we will fully support them.” He said that religion, caste and language should not be brought in such cases. On 22 April, 26 people were killed in a firing by terrorists in a meadow near Pahalgam, a popular tourist city in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, most of which were tourists and many were injured.
