China has recently signed a contract to protect its engineers and workers involved in various China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Pakistan. The incident took place a few days after Baloch militants claimed to be a Pakistani military bus and kill at least 90 soldiers. A few days ago, the terrorists had hijacked the Jafar Express and claimed to kill 214 military hostages.

Under CPEC, about 6,500 Chinese citizens are working on two power projects in Thar Coal Block of Sindh province. According to intelligence reports, Chinese security personnel have been deployed in the first circle of Chinese citizens. This has been done so that Chinese citizens have at least contact with outsiders. Security personnel will ensure planned movement of workers. The scheme will be shared with the Pakistani Army deployed in another security circle.
