Earlier on Wednesday, India had expelled a Pakistani officer working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi and declared an unwanted person for his official status in India and expelled. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the officer has been asked to leave India within 24 hours.

This was the second expulsion in a week. On 13 May, India expelled another Pakistani officer for allegedly involving espionage. After India’s action, Pakistan also expelled an Indian employee posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the tension between India and Pakistan increased a lot, in which 26 civilians lost their lives. India launched accurate attacks on the morning of May 7 in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK) targeting the terrorist structure. After this, Pakistan retaliated to attack Indian military bases on 8, 9 and 10 May. The Indian Army responded to these provocation and effectively.
