According to local media reports amid increasing tension with India after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan’s National Airline on Wednesday canceled all flights from Gilgit, Scardu and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to and from other northern regions of Pakistan. The Express Tribune newspaper said that Pakistan has increased its airspace surveillance amidst security concerns due to tension with India. The newspaper said, for security reasons, all commercial flights from Gilgit and Scardu have been canceled on Wednesday. Officials said that these measures are precautionary and their purpose is to ensure the safety of national aircraft during regional stress. The newspaper said that Pakistani authorities have placed all the airports on high alert, leading to a significant increase in security and monitoring protocols.
