Mohsin Naqvi, president of Pakistan Cricket Board, was absent from the ICC’s annual quarter meeting. Mohsin Naqvi could not go to Harare for recent meetings citing private work in Pakistan. Naqvi is also the federal Home Minister, which is an important post in the central government. The PCB chairman was not invited to the prize distribution ceremony after the final of the Champions Trophy 2025.
The ICC had an annual quarter meeting where Mohsin Naqvi was absent from Pakistan Cricket Board President. Mohsin Naqvi could not go to Harare for recent meetings citing private work in Pakistan. Naqvi is also the federal Home Minister, which is an important post in the central government. The PCB chairman was not invited to the prize distribution ceremony after the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. Due to which speculations are being made, they are not angry with it.
A PCB official said that, Mohsin Naqvi could not go due to work in Swargash and the CEO of the board Sumer Ahmed attended the ICC meetings. Since the end of the meetings, the PCB has been silent on whether it has extended the ICC’s opposition to the ICC’s opposition not to place the PCB representative on the stage for the award distribution ceremony of the Champions Trophy final in Dubai.
The PCB wrote several letters to the ICC after the Champions Trophy final on March 19 seeking clarification as to why no representative of the tournament was on the stage despite being the host of Pakistan. It is understood that the ICC will never give any official reason, as only ICC chairman, board members or heads of nationals can be on the stage for the trophy ceremony.
