Regarding the reservation dispute, Mehbooba Mufti said that we are only saying that give rights according to the population, we are not asking to snatch the rights. We are just saying that people should get rights according to their population, National Conference had taken votes in the elections saying that they will raise this issue in the House but they did not talk on it. He said that yesterday when the youth here were protesting and they went to the Chief Minister, what did he say, he said to wait for 6 months, by then the court’s decision will come.
The former CM asked that if people are protesting against you (National Conference) getting 50 seats and you are saying to wait for 6 months, then what do you have to do? I think the Chief Minister should resolve this issue instead of waiting for the court’s decision. He called for immediate intervention to ensure fair representation for open qualifying candidates and urged political leaders to take action instead of waiting for court rulings.
