The Congress said on Sunday that the objective of the individual attack on the party’s deputy leader Gaurav Gogoi by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma is to divert the attention of the people from the “corruption and misdeeds” of the BJP leader.
Congress MP from Jorhat, Gogoi criticized Sharma for accusing him of having a relationship with Pakistan and questioned the Chief Minister’s mental state due to state issues. Assembly elections are due in Assam next year.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh strongly criticized Sharma’s allegations.
