Pilot after 12th: Arts and commerce in 12th will be able to make a career in the aviation industry, know what is the new rule

Now students of Arts and Commerce will also be able to make a career in the aviation industry as a pilot. Because you will soon see non-science students blowing commercial flights in India. Because the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has been considering abolishing the mandatory math and physics from 12th to the youth wishing to get commercial pilot licenses. Actually, DGCA has proposed an important policy change. Under this, a student with arts and commerce streams will also be allowed to conduct commercial pilot training courses in India. In such a situation, if this proposal gets permission, students of commerce and arts stream will also be able to become a pilot.

DGCA purpose
Let us know that till now only he could get the license of CPL of students, who have read Physics and Math in 12th standard. But the new proposal pending for approval by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is aimed at opening more and more youth a way to aviation career. This decision is being taken under NEP 2020.

DGCA has made these changes proposed
The DGCA has proposed some changes in the eligibility criteria for commercial pilot training. According to this, for these licenses, it is necessary to pass 10th of candidates from recognized boards and institutions in the country.
Helicopters, Zayoplane, Aeroplane, Glider, Ballons, Microlyte Aircraft and Light Sport Aircraft should be a student pilot license.
Private pilot license for airplane and helicopter
Pilot license
Flight radio telephone operator license
At the same time, candidates applying for these licenses should be passed class 12th from recognized boards and institutions, then their stream should be anything.
Commercial pilot license for airplane and helicopter
Airline transport pilot license for airplane and helicopter
Foundation knowledge required in Physics-Maths
Even after positive intentions, this proposal has expressed some concerns about the educational readiness of non-science students. Commercial pilot training includes difficult subjects like navigation, flile mechanism and meteorology. In such a situation, it depends more on Foundation Knowledge in Physics and Maths.
There may be trouble on technical aspect
However, students of commerce and arts may have to face these technical aspects. This can potentially affect the ability to keep pace with the course. Therefore, there may be a need to start additional foundation courses in training institutes. This can increase both cost and training duration. Because of which it can be considered less accessible for some candidates.
Security and Training Standard
Explain that there is a need to maintain security and capacity in this industry. Where pilots work in high-stay environment. Commercial aviation requires taking quick decisions and intensive understanding. In such a situation, it is necessary to ensure that all the candidates fulfill the same standards, even if their academic background is anything.
On the approval of this policy, DGCA and training institutes will have to issue clear guidelines on eligibility, academic support measures and cariculam changes. Because a new flight path is being prepared for Bharat Pilot Education.
