PM Modi Thailand Visit: Thailand welcomed PM Modi by laying red corrpet! Will attend Bimstec

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday to attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit to be held on April 4. After his programs in Thailand, they will go on a state visit to Sri Lanka. Foreign Ministry (MEA) spokesman Randhir Jaiswal confirmed Modi’s departure on social media, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Thailand and Sri Lanka. He will attend the sixth BIMSTEC summit before going to Sri Lanka. Prior to his visit, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of strengthening India’s cooperation with BIMSTEC countries. He wrote on X, in the next three days I will be in Thailand and Sri Lanka and will participate in various programs with the aim of promoting India’s partnership.

Bilateral meetings in Thailand
On reaching Bangkok, Modi will meet his Thai equivalent, Partangatar Shinavatra to discuss bilateral cooperation. He will also meet King Maha Waziralongcorn of Thailand. This will be Modi’s third visit to Thailand and is the first individual BIMSTEC summit since 2018. The theme of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit is Bimstech rich, flexible and open “, which will focus on increasing regional security, trade, investment, connectivity and human security.

State visit to Sri Lanka
After his participation in BIMSTEC, Prime Minister Modi will go on a state visit to Sri Lanka from April 4-6 at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Disanayake. Modi said that the visit was taking place after President Disanayake’s successful visit to India, he said that he was eager to review bilateral relations and find new avenues of cooperation. The purpose of this visit is to strengthen India’s partnership with Sri Lanka, a major maritime neighbor with deep cultural and historical relations.
