Vikram Egyptian stated that our relationship with Mauritius, of course, is based on shared history, culture and relationships between very strong and strong people that have been going on many centuries ago; Mauritius is one of our major partners in the Indian Ocean. In 2015, in Mauritius itself, the Prime Minister clarified security and development for all in the Mission Sagar-region. He told that one of the special things of this visit is that PM Modi will be the chief guest on the National Day of Mauritius. A contingent of Indian defense forces will participate in the ceremony on the occasion of National Day. A ship of the Indian Navy will also be present there. Apart from this, the Akash Ganga Skyding Team of the Indian Air Force will also participate in the ceremony.
India has close and long -term relations with Mauritius located in the Western Indian Ocean. One of the main reasons for special relations is the fact that about 70 percent of Mauritius’ population is about 70 percent of people of Indian origin. India has been one of Mauritius’s largest trading partners since 2005. He said that we have supported the attitude of Mauritius about our sovereignty on Chagos, and it is clearly in line with vulnerability and support of other countries’ sovereignty and regional integrity support. It is appropriate for us to clarify this support for partners like Mauritius.
