Surat Police has tightened security to ensure peaceful celebrations in view of Milad-un-Nabi and Ganesh idol immersion. Security has been tightened in view of the incident of stone pelting on Ganesh pandal on September 9 in Sayedpura area of ​​Surat.

Speaking to ANI on Sunday evening, Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that the police have made elaborate preparations as processions will be taken out on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi on Monday and Ganesh idol immersion processions will be taken out on September 17. “Over 15,000 state police personnel and home guards will be deployed and they will be assisted by 11 teams of State Reserve Police and a team of Rapid Action Force,” Anupam Singh Gehlot said. He further said that a special unit of the state police has been kept ready to deal with any situation and appealed for peaceful celebrations.

He said, “Surveillance will also be done through drone cameras. We appeal to everyone to not pay heed to any rumours and celebrate the festival peacefully.” Earlier, the city police took out a flag march before the celebrations began. 27 people were arrested in connection with the stone-pelting incident in Syedpura on September 9.
