Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that he was in principle with the US proposal of a 30 -day ceasefire in Ukraine, but emphasized that the conditions have to be worked on.

He said, “But there are issues that we need to discuss, and I think we need to talk about it with our American colleagues and partners and, possibly, should discuss it with President Trump on the phone and discuss it.”
President Donald Trump said that Russia is getting “good signs” and he showed cautious optimism about Putin’s statement. He reiterated that he is ready to talk to Putin and emphasized that the time has come to end the war.
Trump said at the beginning of a meeting with NATO General Secretary Mark Route at the White House on Thursday, Putin “made a very promising statement, but it was not complete.” He said that now we will see whether Russia talks or not. If not, it will be a very disappointing moment for the world. ”
