Indian star badminton player PV Sindhu will start her 2025 season at the Yonex-Sunrise India Open. The third edition of India Open Super 750 will start from January 14 at the KD Jadhav Hall of Indira Gandhi Stadium, where players from all over the world will be seen participating. Super 750 has been the main competition organized by the Badminton Association of India, in this series of the tournament, Olympic champion Victor Axelsen, Ann Se Young and world number one player Shi Yuqi will come to the field spreading their magic among the fans, this tournament has been organized by BWF since the beginning. Has been a part of the World Tour, where the winner gets a prize money of US$9,50,000 and 11000 points, in the third season of the tournament hosted by India. 21 players will participate. 21 players will participate from India. For India, 3 players will present their claim in Men’s Singles, 4 in Women’s Singles, 2 in Men’s Doubles, 8 in Women’s Doubles and 4 in Mixed Doubles. In the last two seasons, 14 players had entered from India’s side.
This season, all eyes will be on men’s doubles Asian gold medalist Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Asian Games bronze medalist HS Prannoy. The pair of Satwik and Chirag had made it to the finals of the tournament last time, while Prannoy’s journey came to an end in the last four, with 2022 India Open Super 750 men’s singles champion and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu losing the title.
